Well this half day surf lesson with the crew of Soul Surf will head down the coast to some incredible beginner surf beaches at Lennox and Flat Rock, where you’ll learn to surf alongside their experienced and knowledgable surf instructors.
This Byron Bay surf lesson included everything you need to get started – and under the watchful eye of your coaches you’ll get to grips with the skills you’ll need to really feel the stoke!
From ocean safety to the basics of paddling and standing up this beginner surf lesson is the ideal way to see what surfing in Australia is so popular.
Each lesson is accompanied by a photographer too – so you’ll have the evidence to prove you learned to surf in Australia!

- All equipment is included, we have top of the range learner boards that are very safe and help you to get standing and surfing quickly,we provide Oneil wetsuits in the winter months so you are guaranteed to be warm throughout your session
- We are the only surf school in Byron Bay that has licences in three shires (Byron,Balinna and Tweed this enables us to find you perfect safe learner waves whatever the swell size/direction, wind.
- The first lesson is a complete introduction to surfing so whether you have never surfed before or want a refresher course we will tailor the experience specifically for you.
- We spend time explaining Ocean safety (This ensures at the end of your experience you have knowledge to know where is a safe area to surf or swim for the future
We will teach you all the necessary steps to get you up and surfing and riding waves on your first lesson. Our Instructors use hands on teaching techniques to get you standing very quickly.
We run daily lessons all year round:
Winter:
Morning Lesson 9am – 1pm
Afternoon Lesson 2pm – 6pm
Summer:
Morning Lesson 9am – 1pm
Afternoon Lesson 2pm – 6pm
Please arrive at our surf store at 4/14 Bay Street shortly before the lessons. If you wanted pick up from your accomodation, please confirm 24h before.
