Departing every Saturday you’ll overland up the coast of Western Australia enjoying spots like Karijini National Park, Coral Bay, Exmouth, Shell Beach and 80 Mile Beach just to name a few.

And it’s packed full of epic activities too – from 2 nights camping at the Karijini Eco retreat and wandering around the eerie Pinnacles to meeting the Dolphins of Monkey Mia snorkelling and exploring Cape Range National Park.

For those who want to pack even more into their trip and make it even more memorable it offers up plenty of free time to add in options extras like whale shark or manta ray tours, kayaking, scuba diving and even quad biking.

It’s 14 days packed full of the best of Western Australia, the perfect way to discover what this amazing slice of Australia has to offer and share it with some friendly faces!

Day 1

Perth to Northhampton

Head north to the impressive Pinnacles Desert in Nambung National Park. Enjoy a fully guided tour through these amazing limestone formations and drop in at the Discovery Centre before we have lunch by the sea. After a stop in the town of Geraldton it’s on to Northbrook Farm Stay for some true blue Aussie hospitality and our overnight stay. (L,D)

Day 2

Northhampton to Shark Bay

Visit the Beautiful Kalbarri National Park inc. the Murchison Gorge, Nature’s Window and hike down the Z-Bend in Kalbarri National Park. Here you have the option to try abseiling (additional cost). This afternoon youwill head North to Shark Bay stopping on the way for lunch and a visit to Shell Beach (B,L,D)

Day 3

Shark Bay to Coral Bay

Meet the famous Monkey Mia dolphins, a photo opportunity not to be missed. Relax on the beach or hire a kayak (additional cost). Explore the live rock formations ‘Stromatolites’ before we settle into our accommodation in Coral Bay, located right on the famous Ningaloo Reef. (B,L,D)

Day 4

Coral Bay

Enjoy free time to experience the many tours Coral Bay has to offer, with special discounts available as an Aussie Wanderer passenger. Go for a stroll on the beach and check out the shark nursery, swim with the manta rays (additional cost) or go for a snorkel on the Ningaloo Reef only metres from shore. This evening we take the short drive up the peninsular to Exmouth and check into our accommodation for two nights in the town centre. (B,D)

Day 5

Exmouth

Join any of the optional activities available including snorkelling with the friendly giants of the sea, the whale sharks (seasonal/additional cost) or enjoying a fully guided tour of Cape Range National park, a spectacular place of rugged limestone ranges, breathtaking deep canyons and 50km of pristine beaches. Experience snorkelling at the stunning Turquoise Bay, visit Vlamingh Head Lighthouse and Milyearing Visitors Centre before we return to our accommodation in Exmouth.  (B,L,D)

Day 6

Exmouth to Karijini National Park

Travel east through station country and stop at Tom Price, the highest town in Western Australia. Here we get our supplies before we arrive at the amazing Karijini National Park early afternoon to start exploring. Stay at the multi award winning Karijini Eco Retreat in Eco Safari Tents with your own veranda, quality beds, linen and hot showers. (B,L,D)

Day 7 & 8

Karijini National Park

The next 2 days give us plenty of time to explore Karijini National Park and enjoy 2.5 billion years of evolution and 40,000 years of culture. Visit and hike many of the gorges, swim in amazing rock pools, stand under waterfalls and explore intriguing rock formations including Hancock Gorge, Weano Gorge and its adventurous Handrail Pool, Dales Gorge, Circular Pool, Fortescue Falls, Fern Pool and more. After lunch on day 8 travel further north to Pardoo Roadhouse and camp the night in Swags. (B,L,D)

Day 9

Pardoo Roadhouse to Broome

This morning sees us arrive at 80 Mile Beach for some stunning photos. Upon arrival in Broome your guide will take you for a tour around town before you check in at your accommodation (B,L).

Broome (breakfast included only)

The next two days enjoy free time and all that Broome has to offer. Go for a swim at the stunning Cable Beach, explore China Town and its pearling history, watch a movie at the world’s oldest open-air cinema or ride a camel on the beach at sunset (additional cost). For lunches and dinners check out the variety of eating venues or cook your own at the hostel. (B)

Broome to Perth via Kalbarri (breakfast included only)

The 3 day express journey back to the state’s capital of Perth travels along the coastline with a night of camping in Nanutarra and our overnight stay at our accommodation in Kalbarri township. We return to Perth in the afternoon of day 14 and bid farewell to our group. (B)

14 Day Perth to Broome Return Perth: $40. Surcharge to be paid cash to the tour guide on departure day.

Accommodation 

Aussie Wanderer accommodation style include hostels, farms, cattle stations, camp sites and large safari tents. All the accommodation on our tours is based on a 4-12 bed dorm style. In Karijini National Park we have our own camp at the Savannah Eco Retreat, right in the heart of the park. We stay in large Eco Safari Tents providing comfortable beds, incl. linen/doonahs, hot showers/toilet and BBQ facilities. Scuba Divers

Day Four or Day Five are yours to head out with one of our recommended Dive Companies to explore the more remote regions of the Reef. Choose your package and let us take care of the booking either before you depart on tour or once we get to Coral Bay or Exmouth.
